Esther Dyson
Bio:
Esther Dyson is finishing a book, Term Limits: Human time and AI scale (MIT Press, 2027). It's about the dynamic tension between finite, unique, non-fungible humans, and the culture of exponential growth, longevity/immortality and the relentless search for more This book - and her finite life - reflect her long career: first as a journalist seeking the truth, and then as owner of EDventure Holdings and writer/conference impresario for its tech newsletter Release 1.0 and its annual PC Forum (1982-2007). She also founded and funded Wellville, a 10-year nonprofit project focused on community resilience and well-being in five small US communities (2013 to 2024). Along the way she has invested in numerous startups focused on health, neuroscience, logistics, space travel, AI and emerging markets. In 2008-09 she spent six months training as a backup cosmonaut in Star City, Russia. She speaks fluent Russian as well as French and German, and was born in Switzerland.
