Bio:
James McGill, MD is the Executive Director of Clinical Research at Indiana University Health. In partnership with the IU School of Medicine, IU Health is a cross-Indiana healthcare system providing clinical services to more than 1 million unique patients per year. Jim began his research career during his fellowship in Gastroenterology at Duke University, expanded it as an academic gastroenterologist at Indiana University, and made it a full time career for more than two decades in clinical development at Eli Lilly & Company from which he retired in 2024 as the Sr Vice President of Immunology Drug Development-Medical. In collaboration with IU School of Medicine, more than 1000 clinical trials are being conducted in IU Health with about 40% being industry sponsored by approximately 260 different industry partners with pharmaceutical, cell and gene therapies, and devices. IU Health has clinical research resources and staff in 10 hospitals/sites across Indiana initiating an average of 5 new studies a week.
