Bio:

Shruti Kaushal is an award-winning Senior Data Scientist at AbbVie, leading the development of AI and machine learning solutions to advance clinical trial oversight and pharmaceutical R&D. She has been recognized as the Young Data Scientist of the Year 2026 by Pistoia Alliance for driving AI innovation in life sciences R&D. Drawing from her work at AbbVie, Shruti�s DPHARM talk focuses on designing and implementing advanced anomaly detection frameworks in clinical operations to protect trial integrity and? safeguard patients. In her current role, she pioneered an unsupervised, generalized linear mixed model anomaly detection solution that analyzes site level temporal data to flag high-risk operational sites, an initiative that earned the AbbVie R&D President�s Award in 2024. Her technical portfolio also includes deploying enterprise AI and ML solutions for patient medical monitoring, duplicate patient detection, and document classification. Previously, Shruti served as a researcher at Harvard University�s Wyss Institute, where she built AI-driven drug discovery tools using Markov Random Fields for DARPA-funded therapeutic projects. Her peer-reviewed research has been published in Nature Communications Medicine and PLOS Computational Biology. She holds a Master of Science in Mathematics from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and a Master of Science in Data Science from Columbia University.?
